Botox is the most ubiquitous aesthetic procedure. There are different products available, and different styles of administration. The best way for you to love your results is to understand these differences.
Which product?
After trying different botulinum toxins on the market, we chose name-brand Allergan Botox as our preferred product. There are a handful of newer competitors, but our experience is that the newer products do not offer the same level of consistency, potency, and duration as the original. Competitors may be cheaper or look appealing on paper, but the real-world results that we have seen are not even close.

Which Technique?
Botox treatment involves the injecting of the medication into the muscles of facial expression to dramatically reduce their strength. The medication arrives from the manufacturer in a powder form, and it is reconstituted by adding a liquid to it to create what is referred to as a “standard dilution”, which is 5 units per 0.1 cc. For typical Botox administration it is then drawn up with a syringe and injected into the muscles utilizing this “standard dilution” for all of the injection sites.
We believe that using a one-size-fits-all concentration of Botox is a disservice to our clients, because small and strong muscles need higher concentrations of product while larger and weaker muscles need less. This is particularly true in the forehead, because the “standard dilution” of Botox makes it very easy to administer too many units and cause flattened eyebrows.
This dose-adjusted approach of Botox administration is called “Microtox”. The results are more natural, with better brow lift results and fewer units of Botox required. Most of our clients only need around 35 units or so with this technique. You just can’t beat the combination of superior, more natural results and lower cost.
